Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind (2003)

Image
Starring- Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Woods, and Tom Wilkinson. Directed By- Michael Gondry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joel Barish- "I’m always anxious, thinking I’m not living my life to the fullest, taking advantage of every possibility, make sure I’m not wasting one second of the little time I have.” Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is an exceptional romantic drama. I am saying exceptional because for me it looks more like a romantic psychological thriller because the main idea of this movie is centered, let's say, on the psychology of two main characters Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) and Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet). Or I even would say, the movie shows the fight between the rational aspect of human nature and the emotional one. "You can erase someone from your mind, but not from your heart". You see, the story is pretty simple. But the way it...

BORAT: : Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006)

Image
Starring- Sacha Baron Cohen, Ken Davitian, Leunell, Alan Lee, and Pamela Anderson. Directed By- Larry Charles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Borat : "Although Kazkahstan glorious country, it have problem too. Social, economic and  Jew . This why  Ministry of Information has decided to send me to US and A, the greatest country in the world, to learn lessons for Kazakhstan. I will travel with most venerable producer, Azamat Bagatov. I watched this movie for the first time when I was 16 maybe 17 years old.  My innocent mind couldn't emphasize what this cult movie had to offer.  This is the funniest movie I've ever watched. On the surface level, people's perspective would be this Sacha is trolling people but for me, there's a deeper meaning to it. He tries to portray a cartoonish fictional with a sprinkle of real characters. I love dirty comedy. The satirical idea for the film is simply brilliant. The ch...

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (2021)

Image
Starring- Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily Vancamp, Wyatt Russell, Erin Kellyman, Adeperu Oduye, with Daniel  Brühl , and Don Cheadle. Directed By- Kari Skogland. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sam Wilson-    “Symbols are nothing without the women and men that give them meaning.” BETTER THAN WANDAVISION. WAY BETTER. The show has some hilarious comedy and some chilling drama, and I myself really love shows and movies that are a perfect balance like that. Everyone has their shades of grey and their own justifiable reasons make it a compelling watch. While I had my doubts at the beginning, especially when the trailers were released, but the acting, VFX, action and set pieces make it a great show. Cleverly placed references to the past movies and a dynamic soundtrack that has motifs to each and every character. The Falcon and the winter soldier never got their solo movies but thanks to the history of our real universe, ...

Birdman Or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014)

Image
Starring- Michael Keaton, Zack Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Naomi Watts, and Amy Ryan. Directed By- Alejandro González Iñárritu ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riggan: This is my career, this is my chance to do some work that actually means something. Sam: Means something to who? You had a career before the third comic book  movie  before people began to  forget  who was inside the bird costume.  In an effort to combine fiction with realism, director Alejandro González has successfully put his 21 Grams on number two on my list of his favorites, since I now consider Birdman to be on to top. I was very surprised by this film and Alejandro González Iñárritu's direction is superb as he does a great job in bluring the lines between theatre and film as well as fiction and reality. The screenplay is also a gem as it showcases the inner conflict of Riggan though the voices of the Bir...

The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

Image
S tarring- Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Warris Alhuwalia, Natalie Portman, Irrfan Khan, Amara Karan, and Bill Murray. Written and Directed By- Wes Anderson ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Whitman- "Maybe we could express ourselves more fully if we say it without words". The film is absolutely engaging from the very start with a hilarious, memorable cameo by Bill Murray, trying to catch the Darjeeling Limited train in slow motion. Brody, Jason Schwartzman, and Owen Wilson play the three Whitman brothers, Peter, Jack, and Francis. Wilson's character has organized a spiritual journey through India with his brothers who have not spoken to one other since their father's funeral a year ago. While not being truly laugh out loud funny, the film is clever, well written, with memorable characters and one liners that grow wittier over time. The only type of movie it can be compared to are other films by Wes Anders...

Gangs of New York (2002)

Image
Starring- Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo Di Caprio, Cameron Diaz, John C. Reilly, Brendon Gleeson, and Liam Neeson. Directed By- Martin Scorsese.  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Bill  'The  Butcher ' Cutting: "I don't see no Americans. I see trespassers, Irish harps. Do a job for a nickel what a nigger does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for. What have they done?  Name  one thing they've contributed". Amsterdam Vallon: “And no matter what they did to build this city up again, for the rest of time, it will be like no-one even knew we were ever here.” True to his words, the last scene shows New York a 100 years later. As if all that the movie showed, never happened! Yet another chapter in history, gone with the wind! Personally I thought this was too long, particularly melodramatic, the acting wasn't exactly convincing to me; I wasn't taken there, transported into the essenc...
