Wanda Maximoff- "We are an unusual couple you know".
Vision- Oh! I don't think that was ever in question.
Episodes 1-2 were pretty bland but I could understand the concept of it after watching the later episodes. At first, I didn't really understand the plot of the show, wondering what this WandaVision thing was about, but after literally binging the episodes I was amazed.
As a person who has watched all of the MCU movies throughout the years, I was pleased with how they presented the show as a whole. The storyline is impeccable and it fits right between Infinity War and after Endgame perfectly.
I also liked how they incorporated Captain Marvel by adding Carol's best friend's daughter as one of the characters which gave us more background on what happened after Captain Marvel left Earth to go protect other galaxies. They also added a character from Thor's life, Darcy Louis. That was a very cool combination that I did not really expect so it was nice to see an old character come back after so many years.
From episode 1 to episode 8 everything pitch-perfect – from script, to delivery, to lighting, to cinematography, to aspect ratio – but loving parody of classic sitcoms. The first is set in the 50s and channels the likes of The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Love Lucy, while the second moves them into the 60s and a Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie vibe. After that we’re into the 70s and the Brady Bunch and beyond. We even saw Bryan Cranston in one of those scenes.
The acting from Paul Bettany is outstanding and Katherine Hahn’s amazing portrayal of the villain. The acting was just right , it was never too cringey or over-exaggerated.
But after watching the finale- What have you done to the MCU, Disney?
They straight up butchered her back story, I was actually REALLY enjoying the show till about ep7 which is where most people would say it finally gets good. Her parents are no longer Magda and Magneto, and she essentially got her powers from the mind gem which flat out doesn't even make sense, if she's wielding what they call "chaos magic". That could've a great opportunity for Dinsey to bring Magneto into the MCU. But they failed comprehensively.
Also everyone is a fucking Avenger nowadays. Captain Rambo out of nowhere gets the powers exactly like Captain Marvel? Bullshit in my opinion. And where is the great/suprising cameo? We all thought Doctor Strange might appear in the Finale, but we didn't see shit.
After weeks of buildup for Wanda as the Pyschopath/Villian, they completely spoiled it. Throwing it out of the kitchen's sink. Rather they gave her all the powers, made her the most powerful Avenger. Sorry Thor!
Also, spoiled Evan Peters' return as Quicksilver. Overall, the finale was nothing special just a Superhero fighting a stupid villian. The mid and post credit scenes weren't any special either. Just hope that Falcon and the Winter Soilder and Loki don't turn out to be a mess like WandaVision.
My Rating- 6/10.
