Steve- "A ghost can be a lot of things. A memory, a daydream, a secret. Grief, anger, guilt. But, in my experience, most times they’re just what we want to see".

Thanks to my friend who told me about this show, for I have given up on Netflix shows for all sorts of reasons. Easily one of the best Horror genre shows I've ever watched. The Haunting of Hill House slowly Turns into a spellbinding masterpiece full of sorrow and longing. The series shows the tragic events played out in Hill House around 20 years prior and the stain that the family left behind. A lot of psychological work went into making this that puts horror at a whole new level. The good thing about this show was, it'll make you emotional by the end.  I believe it has raised the standards in filmmaking and will challenge others to pursue higher entertainment levels that leave the viewer changed somehow for the better. I think every person watching this will get a different experience depending on what life's journey you have been on.

Steve- "Hill House, not sane, stands against its hills holding darkness within. It has stood so for a hundred years and might stand a hundred more".

The actors, writing and directing were brilliantly done! Everyone was really good with their part, you can see the scary look on their face. What makes this so brilliant is that all the ghost pretty much has a purpose and a reason for being there. It's not like your typical horror movie, where the ghost actually comes in different shapes and sizes and tries to scare you for no reason, here the writing made the show impactful and there's a story which actually made sense. My applause goes out to entire staff, crew, writers, etc. etc. for being a part of this as I know it was challenging to make in all aspects of production.

After a long time I've appreciated a Netflix Orginal. Netflix has been making some stupid Teenage shows to attract the backward audience (attack on 13RW and Sex Education), Kudos to Netflix. Never got emotional over a horror show/movie before but this one, I did ! This goes to the top of my recommendation list.

My Rating- 8/10
